The week between Passion Sunday and Easter Sunday is the most sacred of the church year, and will be celebrated in solemn fashion in Galway Cathedral.

Servant to the poor and ill, St Frances is patron of ambulance drivers and widows. She is remembered on 9 March each year.

The 9:00am mass on Friday 2 March has been cancelled, in anticipation of the forecast dangerous weather conditions. All other masses will be celebrated as usual.

The annual Solemn Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help begins on Monday 19 February 2018, and runs until Tuesday 27 February. There are six sessions each day, as follows: Monday-Saturday: 07:45, 11:00, 13:10, 15:30, 19:30, 21:00 Sunday: 09:00, 10:30, 12:30, 16:30, 18:30, 20:00

Bishop Brendan Kelly will be installed on Sunday 11 February 2018 at 3:00pm.

Bishop Brendan Kelly has been appointed by Pope Francis as Bishop of Galway & Kilmacduagh and Apostolic Administrator of Kilfenora. He will be installed in the Cathedral on Sunday 11 February 2018.
