Summer Concerts 2018

The 25th annual series of summer concerts in Galway Cathedral takes place between 5 July and 9 August, on Thursday evenings at 8:00pm.

This year's landmark series includes a screening of a silent movie with live organ accompaniment, a conversation between plainchant, uillean pipes and organ, and the glorious combination of brass and organ, as well as the usual organ recitals by renowned international players.

Saint of the Month: St Etheldreda

St Etheldreda

St Etheldreda (636-679), also known as Aethelthryth or Audrey, was one of the four daughters of Anna, King of East Anglia. She was founder of the abbey which later became Ely Cathedral.
