Summer Concerts 2017

The 24th annual series of summer concerts in Galway Cathedral takes place between 6 July and 10 August, on Thursday evenings at 8:00pm.

This year's series includes an orchestra-and-organ spectacular, an intimate performance of music for soprano, lute and organ, and a performance by a 100-voice choir, as well as the usual recitals on the Cathedral's magnificent organ.

Charlottesville High School Orchestra

Charlottesville High School Orchestra, from the USA, gives a concert in the Cathedral on Sunday 25 June 2017 at 8:00pm. Admission is free.

The programme includes Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings, Dvorak's American Quartet, Copland's Hoedown and other music.

St Isodore (1070-1130) is patron saint of Madrid and other towns in Spain; also of farmers, peasants and farm labourers. He is remembered on 15 May each year.
