The annual Solemn Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help begins on Monday 15 February 2016, and runs until Tuesday 23 February. There are six sessions each day, as follows: Monday-Saturday: 07:45, 11:00, 13:10, 15:30, 19:30, 21:00 Sunday: 09:00, 10:30, 12:30, 16:30, 18:30, 20:00

The ever-popular Galway Cathedral Carol Service takes place on Tuesday 22 December 2015 at 19:30. The Cathedral Choir will lead the congregation in much of the best-loved music of Christmas, in the candlelit nave of the Cathedral.

Feast of the Immaculate Conception: 8 December

The Three Tenors - Ray O'Hare, Dominic McGorian and Derek Moloney - feature in a concert in the Cathedral on Friday 18 December at 20:00. Tickets cost €25.00, and are available at the Cathedral Bookshop, at Zhivago in Shop Street, and at the door.

A fund-raising concert in aid of the Simon Community takes place in the Cathedral on Friday 4 December 2015 at 19:45.

Christmas is one of the most joyful seasons of the church year, and is celebrated in the Cathedral with appropriate solemnity. Here are details of the various events taking place at this time. Here also are details of confessions in the days before Christmas.
