The Waterbury Chorale, from Connecticut in the USA, gives a concert in the Cathedral on Friday 1 July 2016 at 8:00pm. The choir is directed by Joseph Jacovino Jr, and accompanied on the organ by Jenny Li.
Admission is free, and all are welcome.
The 2016 series of summer concerts takes place in the Cathedral from 7 July until 11 August, on Thursdays at 8:00pm. Highlights of this year's series include a performance by Audivi Chamber Choir of Herbert Howells' Requiem on 21 July.
The Esker Festival Orchstra, conducted by Peter Joyce, gives a concert in the Cathedral on Thursday 30 June at 8:00pm. The programme includes Mozart's flute concerto in G, Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, and a specially-commissioned work, Elus, by young Irish composer Luke Duffy.
The Dagilėlis Boys' Choir, from Lithuania, gives a concert in the Cathedral on Sunday 26 June 2016 at 19:00. The programme includes music by Bach, Handel, Fauré, Victoria, Elgar and others.
Admission is free, and the concert will last about an hour.
Maynooth University String Ensemble, directed by Sébastian Petiet, is joined by sopranos Erin Dollard and Nicola Lahert for a performance of Pergolesi's wonderful Stabat Mater Dolorosa. The concert takes place in the Cathedral at 20:00 on Saturday 16 April 2016.
West Liberty University Singers, from West Virginia in the USA, give a concert in the Cathedral on Sunday 6 March 2016 at 20:00, where they are joined by the NUI Galway staff & student choirs and a small orchestra of wind, harp, strings & organ. The programme includes a performance of Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest and extracts from Bernstein's Chichester Psalms.
Admission is free; a collection will be taken in aid of breast cancer research.
The Three Tenors - Ray O'Hare, Dominic McGorian and Derek Moloney - feature in a concert in the Cathedral on Friday 18 December at 20:00. Tickets cost €25.00, and are available at the Cathedral Bookshop, at Zhivago in Shop Street, and at the door.
A fund-raising concert in aid of the Simon Community takes place in the Cathedral on Friday 4 December 2015 at 19:45.
Enttitled White Christmas, the concert is presented by the A-Capella Knights, and features also the Galway Baytones, Gospel Wedding Group, Bluebirds and Tribal Chamber Choir. The programme includes an eclectic mix of Christmas favourites.
