The week between Passion Sunday and Easter Sunday is the most sacred of the church year, and will be celebrated in solemn fashion in Galway Cathedral.

West Liberty University Singers, from West Virginia in the USA, give a concert in the Cathedral on Sunday 6 March 2016 at 20:00, where they are joined by the NUI Galway staff & student choirs and a small orchestra of wind, harp, strings & organ. The programme includes a performance of Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest and extracts from Bernstein's Chichester Psalms. Admission is free; a collection will be taken in aid of breast cancer research.

St Joseph, earthly father of Jesus, carpenter and husband of Our Lady. His feast is celebrated on 19 March.

The annual Solemn Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help begins on Monday 15 February 2016, and runs until Tuesday 23 February. There are six sessions each day, as follows: Monday-Saturday: 07:45, 11:00, 13:10, 15:30, 19:30, 21:00 Sunday: 09:00, 10:30, 12:30, 16:30, 18:30, 20:00

The ever-popular Galway Cathedral Carol Service takes place on Tuesday 22 December 2015 at 19:30. The Cathedral Choir will lead the congregation in much of the best-loved music of Christmas, in the candlelit nave of the Cathedral.

Feast of the Immaculate Conception: 8 December

The Three Tenors - Ray O'Hare, Dominic McGorian and Derek Moloney - feature in a concert in the Cathedral on Friday 18 December at 20:00. Tickets cost €25.00, and are available at the Cathedral Bookshop, at Zhivago in Shop Street, and at the door.
