Boston Handel & Haydn Society

The young men's and young women's choruses of the Handel & Haydn Society (Boston, USA) sing at the 11:00am mass in the Cathedral on Monday 24 June 2019.
Founded in Boston in 1815, the Handel and Haydn Society is considered America’s oldest continuously performing arts organization. The mission of the Handel and Haydn Society is to enrich life and influence culture by performing Baroque and Classical music at the highest levels of artistic excellence. The Society's artistic director is Harry Christophers, best known as director of the Sixteen.
Luminosa String Orchestra
The Luminosa String Orchestra, Galway's new professional orchestra, gives a concert in the Cathedral on Wednesday 19 June 2019 at 8:00pm.
The programme includes the Galway premiere of Inishlacken by Bill Whelan, Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings, and other music by Edward Elgar, John Maxwell Geddes, Arthur Duff and Edward Grieg.
Jesuit High School Choir, USA

The choir of the Jesuit High School, Carmichael, California (USA), sings at the 11:00am mass in the Cathedral on Thursday 13 June. The choir is directed by Leah Heine and will be accompanied on the organ by Rexphil Rallanka.
Holy Name of Jesus Choir, USA

A group from the parish of the Holy Name of Jesus in Florida, USA, visits the Cathedral on Friday 14 June 2019, and the parish choir will sing at the 11:00am mass. The choir is directed by George Kobosko.
Music at the mass includes Alstott's Heritage Mass.
Choir of St Anthony on the Lake, USA

The choir of the Church of St Anthony on the Lake, from the USA, visits the Cathedral on Thursday 20 June and will sing at the 11:00am mass. The choir's programme includes a wide range of liturgical music, and the choir will sing for a short while after mass also.
Concert: Luminosa String Orchestra
Luminosa Orchestra, Galway's new professional orchestra, gives its inaugural concert in the Cathedral on Monday 15 April 2019 at 8:00pm.
The orchestra plays a programme of music by women composers: Fanny Mendelssohn, Joan Trimble, Jane O'Leary, Marian Ingoldsby, Elizabeth Maconchy and Hildegard of Bingen; the evening also includes poems read by Grace Kiely.
Tickets are €20 at the door.
