The 40th anniversary of the visit to Galway of Pope John Paul II will be marked with a mass in the Cathedral on Sunday 29 September 2019 at 3:00pm.
The names of people who attended the Ballybrit mass and who have since died may be put into a box in the Cathedral, and they will be remembered at the mass on 29 September.
The choir of the Jesuit High School, Carmichael, California (USA), sings at the 11:00am mass in the Cathedral on Thursday 13 June. The choir is directed by Leah Heine and will be accompanied on the organ by Rexphil Rallanka.
A group from the parish of the Holy Name of Jesus in Florida, USA, visits the Cathedral on Friday 14 June 2019, and the parish choir will sing at the 11:00am mass. The choir is directed by George Kobosko.
Music at the mass includes Alstott's Heritage Mass.
The choir of the Church of St Anthony on the Lake, from the USA, visits the Cathedral on Thursday 20 June and will sing at the 11:00am mass. The choir's programme includes a wide range of liturgical music, and the choir will sing for a short while after mass also.
Mass in the Cathedral will be at 11:00 ONLY each day Monday-Friday, 22-26 April 2019.
The normal mass schedule resumes on Saturday 27 April.
