We are saddened to learn of the death of Msgr Seán O’Flaherty. Msgr O’Flaherty served as Parish Priest of Galway Cathedral from July 1993 until July 2010.
He is fondly remembered for his unwavering dedication, his pastoral care, and his deep commitment to the life of the parish and community. His leadership and kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew him and his service as a priest and educator enriched the lives of many.
May he rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at Galway Cathedral Parochial House (adjacent to the Cathedral) on Thursday 9 January, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, followed by removal to Galway Cathedral at 7:00pm.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday 10 January at 12:00 noon, with burial afterwards in Rakerin Cemetery, Kilbeacanty.
