The Sanctuary Choir of Immanuel Presbyterian Choir, from McLean, Virginia, USA, gives a concert in the Cathedral on Saturday 3 September 2016 at 7:00pm. Admission is free, and a collection will be taken in aid of Galway Hospice.
For nearly 60 years, the all-volunteer Sanctuary Choir of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church has sung for Sunday worship services in McLean, Virginia, as well as performed numerous fund-raising concerts throughout the Washington DC area. Under the current direction of Brian E. Wilhour, the group has performed concert tours in Austria, Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic. The intergenerational performers from all walks of life have also premi`ered more than a dozen major works with orchestra, including symphonies, cantatas, and other original pieces composed by Mr Wilhour.
