Galway Cathedral offers the position of Organ Scholar to a suitably-qualified person.

The Organ Scholar's duties include accompanying services and assisting the Director of Music with choral rehearsal and performance. The position affords the Organ Scholar a wide range of experience in liturgy and performance.

The current Organ Scholar is Robbie Carroll, who was appointed in September 2010.
