Music at Galway Cathedral

The importance of high-quality music in the liturgy has been recognised in Galway Cathedral since the building was dedicated; we are lucky in having a large team of people who assist in this regard.

Galway Cathedral Choir

The Cathedral Choir is a volunteer adult choir which sings every Sunday at the 11:15 Mass, and at all major ceremonies in the Cathedral. It is currently directed by Raymond O'Donnell. More...

Junior Choir

The Junior Choir is made up of children up to the age of 14, and sings periodically at the Sunday 10:00 Mass. It is currently directed by Pearl Hynes.

Cantors

A team of volunteer cantors leads congregational singing each Sunday at the 12:30 Mass and on other occasions also. New cantors are always welcome - please contact the Director of Music.
