The inaugural Galway Camino pilgrim walk to seven holy sites around Galway city will take place on Saturday 23 September 2017 at 12 noon. The Galway Camino Pilgrim walk has been organised by the Knights of St Columbanus.

Beginning at Galway Cathedral, the pilgrim walk will take in seven of Galway Holy sites including the Poor Clare convent in Nuns' Island, St Nicholas' Collegiate Church, the Franciscan Abbey, the Augustinian Church, the Dominican Church in the Claddagh and St Joseph’s Church.

Each pilgrim will receive a Galway Camino booklet to be stamped at each site. Upon returning to Galway Cathedral, with all seven stamps, a Galway Camino Certificate of Completion will be given. The Galway Camino registration office will be open at Galway Cathedral from 12 noon.

Walkers can start whenever they wish provided they return to Galway Cathedral by 5.30pm at the latest. The estimated duration of the walk is 2 hours (plus any time spent at each site) and the booklet supplied will contain the relevant map.
